Notre Dame

Notre Dame was a pretty incredible church to visit. I like to think of it as the original Megachurch! The stain glass, and the architecture was magnifique! As you will see it just made Jess and I want to kiss!

Caleb wasn’t impressed, he slept through the whole thing! But, he woke up in time for a snack.

Doors

I have this strange fascination with French doors. They are all so fun! So, I take pictures of them. I do the same thing in Chambery.

Next stop La Tour Eiffel or the Eiffel Tower

Proof that Mark was there! There are tons of gardens around the Eiffel Tower and it is fun waking through and enjoying the springtime.

This joker is huge!

Underneigth.

Jess having an asthma attack at the ET, Ali looking at the Tower, Caleb being Caleb and Zoe eating pretzels. This is the Spangler’s for real! Hahaha, I love this picture.

First stop tour montparnasse, I think

This is a huge skyscraper with a 360 degree view of Paris. It was a must do for us and cheap as well! It was the first official thing we did in Paris and we rather enjoyed it! It is always fun to see the big picture.

Raclette

We had a French friend over and ate Raclette! Raclette is a French meal from the region we live in. We had so much fun! It is basically melted cheese over potatoes. Yum!

Another carnival

We went to another carnival in a town nearby the next weekend or so. It was fun for the kids to dress up and learn more about French culture! They actually burn something at the end of the party and in this case they burned Mr Carnival! It was the big paper man! It has something to do with getting rid of the past and bringing in the new springtime! Profound really.

carnival!!!!

So Jess likes to add all the pictures, and from time to time, I like to write and explain stuff. The following pictures are from the Chambery carnaval. The carnival is kind of cool it is like a huge party where all the kids dress up in costumes and watch a parade get confetti thrown on them, and throw confetti. So yeah, it is pretty much a party to celebrate confetti.

We had a wonderful time with our dear friend “Aunt” Susanne who was very patient, and just made the day wonderful. So the following pictures are of us all watching the parade.

My young window garden

There are lots of things I miss about living in a house, one of which is having a back yard for gardening. So, my fix for gardening will have to be found in my small window garden. I have planted strawberries and three different types of lettuce. Since I took this picture I have also planted basil, which hasn’t sprouted yet and chives which have just started sprouting. Mark and I have recently been experimenting with salsa too and may plant some cilantro soon.
