Doorstop sourdough bread

So on occasion I make a brick instead of bread. Zoe asked for bread and I wasn’t up for attempting to cut this puppy. So, I handed her the loaf.

She enjoyed eating it for a while…

Then she started playing with it while Caleb stared eating his own loaf.

Then we started playing with it.

I love that he sticks his tongue out!

This was his score! He was up against the toughest kid!

That is the picture right before Caleb runs the poor kid over. They were both fine. No tears or worries. Tough guys!

Time on the bench :). Silly boys. Caleb is having such a fun time with his team. he loves playing soccer and we love watching.

An afternoon waiting for dad to get off work

We were hanging out in the back yard just waiting for daddy to open the door to leave work.

Here he is! The kids all run and Caleb decides to run back and the jump into Mark’s arms!

Good catch dad! But, uh oh! Here comes Zoe!

Problem solved…

Family walk

We went on a family walk today and Zoe started off with her hat, walking stick and backpack.

Within three minutes she decided to hand them all off to dad so she could run.

The red on Zoe’s arm is from a stamp that was in her goody bag from church today. Needless to say she stamped her arm on the way home!

Candied jalapeños

Mark fell in love with sugared jalapeños when we visited his brother and family in TX. So, I decided to make him some today while he was away. I can’t wait for him to come home and see them! We can’t taste them for a few weeks. I haven’t canned anything since I was a teenager in Kim B’s kitchen so we will see how it goes. Next time I do this I will ask Mark to sharpen my Opinel before I do the job!

My clean and hopefully sterilized jars

The sugary goodness!

All three together with love and patience hopefully makes some yummy sweet jalapeños!
